New products, new industries, and more jobs require continuous additions to knowledge of the laws of nature, and the application of that knowledge to practical purposes.

Knowledge is acquired over time. Mankind has accumulated it over the centuries. The greatest invention, the writing, has allowed its transmission over time and space, favoring this process in an exceptional way.
Today, new technologies make Knowledge easily accessible to many: an excellent result, but which reduces critial analisys and produces a “disposable” approach. The short-term vision can be reconciled with the “disposable” approach, but not the strategic and long-term vision, which needs a solid foundation based on a thorough knowledge of the relevant issues.
In every field the contributions to Knowledge have been innumerable. In particular, we like to remember Galileo Galilei, who introduced the scientific method, and Vannevar Bush, who laid the foundations for dual innovation. In fact, GCLS focuses, using the scientific method, on strategies and technological trajectories in the dual field.
GCLS produces analysis and technological evolution studies to business strategy, with a special focus on Civil Security and Defence. We take into account, inter alia, the financial opportunities existing in the field of technological research and innovation and coming from the European Union.
